The year is nearly at an end and for most bloggers, that means we’ve been thinking up ideas, taking photos and writing our little hearts out for 12 months. And the consensus seems to be, everyone is exhausted. I’ve seen many a tweet by a beauty blogger over the past week saying how wrecked and uninspired they feel and that they’ve lost their motivation to blog. Well girls, honestly, it’s been month after month of giving it your all to make your blog what you want it to be and at some stage, it’s only natural to feel a bit spent.
I’ve been blogging 2 years next month and if there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it’s that I tend to be more active with blogging during the good months and then as the colder months roll in I find things get a little bit harder. Suddenly it’s getting dark at 4 and taking photos becomes a nightmare. Posts start to back up a little. You get a cold or you’re busy concentrating on Christmas and staying cosy and overall, you start to feel a bit knackered. At the moment, I’m great at making lists of ideas for posts, but then I start to get lazy. I’m definitely feeling it, but I know from experience I felt it this time last year as well and the best thing I ever did was take a proper 2 week holiday at Christmas and not worry in the slightest if other people were blogging and if my stats were dwindling with days of no activity on the blog.
And guess what? When I felt rested and good and ready to blog after a lovely Christmas and New Year, everything picked up as normal within a few days and I found I was really looking forward to blogging again.
Yes, blogging is a hobby, but it’s quite a big one and one that demands a lot of creativity, time and effort and like anything else, sometimes you need to turn your back on it for a little while to miss it. So don’t start feeling awful if you’re staring at a blank post because it’s pretty safe to say, the rest are probably doing the exact same.
So girls are you finding you’re suffering from bloggers fatigue at the moment and are you planning a well deserved break over Christmas?
