Who knows about your blog?

Blogging is an amazing past time and a pleasure to either create or just to browse as a reader. But I have noticed there’s a distinct divide in blogging between people who are very vocal about being  a blogger and those who prefer to keep things a little quieter. Now...

Body Shop Colour Crush Lipsticks for Spring

Spring brings about some of the most fun and pretty products of the year and I’ve been lucky enough to try out a whole host of them, including today’s collection. I’d heard about  The Body Shop lippies a few times, often about how their Colour Crush lippie in shade 105...

Hyped Products that you just don’t like? Share yours!

I’ve bought a lot of makeup over the years and that means I’ve succumbed to the mystical powers of product hype more times than I care to mention. Sometimes, the hype is warranted but other times, I’m left a bit puzzled and wonder if I’m being a fussy so...

NEW! Ask the Experts Weekly Posts – Come Meet the Girls!

I always have tons of beauty questions I want  to ask my fellow beauty bloggers. So I thought that if...
Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea

Doesn’t this look good enough to eat? I’m trying to stay off the sweeties so maybe that’s why I’m giving this duo a double take, but you can’t deny the cuteness of this pair from Bomb Cosmetics. I’d spotted various cuteness from the brand dotted around many a chemist in...

liz earle christmas stars

These two had me at hello. I love Christmas, I love makeup, therefore any decoration that offers a little beauty surprise inside has me a little giddy.

First off, how kick ass would these look on a Christmas tree? I wish we had ours bought so I could have taken proper photos of these on a beautiful Christmas tree, but my half assed attempt will have to do for today! These large tin stars are simply adorable though and feel and look like a real present that on it’s own would delight any girl who loves her beauty.

I like that Liz Earle have created a mix of beauty and skincare products inside these stars to appeal to a wider range of ladies and when I checked the prices, I was actually stunned at how cheap they are. The two I was sent are stunners, one has a miniature Hot Cloth Cleanser (muslin cloth included) which, having tried before, I absolutely love as it’s even gentle enough to remove eye makeup with. This is one of those perfect soft and gentle cleansers for even the most sensitive skin that, although pricey, was worth the splurge. In a mini form like this, it’s the perfect way to introduce someone new to the product in a way that’s affordable and fun. And all for €6.50. With the gorgeous tin and the quality of the product inside, I actually think this is an amazing buy for a friend or family member that looks 3 times as expensive.

If you have a few more euro to spend, the other purple star has the most beautiful full size tea rose lipstick inside (the colour looks lighter in the photo but it’s actually a perfect pink, check out a good review here). It’s actually a pink shade I’m always looking for and yet very rarely find and I could see this working on practically every girl as it’s such a soft, flattering colour. I think bright or dark lipsticks in sets like these can often be a hard sell as a lot of ladies (me included) aren’t that brave with our lip colours, so I think this choice is perfect and there may be a bit of a fight between the girls in my family as to who gets to use this! If you do like your brighter shades though, don’t despair, there’s another Liz Earle star with the perfect Christmas red in it also. Now as this comes with a full size product, it’s €16.75 but again, for a gorgeous gift for someone, I think anything near the €15 mark is a really fair price and the lipsticks on their own are the exact same price so I think it’s extremely fair.

So does it sound like I love these two? Well I really do, and I felt genuinely thrilled to open these up and can see girls everywhere being the exact same if they were lucky enough to receive either of these at Christmas. For sheer value, the Hot Cloth Cleanser Christmas star is going to be one of my star buys for Christmas and I could make most of the women in my family happy with just this little gift. These stars feel luxurious, special and festive and I’m totally sold on them!

If you’re as enamoured as I am, they can be found on the Liz Earle website here

So girls are you loving these as much as I am or hating the decoration gift idea?
