Body Shop Colour Crush Lipsticks for Spring

Spring brings about some of the most fun and pretty products of the year and I’ve been lucky enough to try out a whole host of them, including today’s collection. I’d heard about  The Body Shop lippies a few times, often about how their Colour Crush lippie in shade 105...

Afternoon Tea

Doesn’t this look good enough to eat? I’m trying to stay off the sweeties so maybe that’s why I’m giving this duo a double take, but you can’t deny the cuteness of this pair from Bomb Cosmetics. I’d spotted various cuteness from the brand dotted around many a chemist in...

lancome Happy Holidays 2013

Ok I officially found my perfect Christmas eyeshadows. I’ll try not to gush too much but these are GOOD.

I get very excited around this time of year with all the Christmas collections coming out as everything seems to be a little more special. Well things got extra special when I was sent two of the brand new eyeshadows from Lancome’s upcoming Christmas collection Happy Holidays. Well it’s certainly going to be that way for me and these little beauties are the icing on the cake.

The whole collection is extremely glamorous and grown up festive fun, with just the right amount of sparkle and shine to make you feel extra special. The Lancôme Hypnôse Ultra Dazzling Colours (€27) for me are the star of the show, and although I balked a little at the price when I first saw it, I do think one of these would be the perfect little treat to yourself before the season of parties and dinners starts for Crimbo. And here’s why.

Well firstly, packaging is beautiful and each eyeshadow (I tried Eternal Emerald and Black Sapphire) is housed in a small jar that opens to reveal a dome of shimmering mousse eyeshadow. I’ve never used an eyeshadow like this before so the springy texture and ultra soft pigmentation was a delight to use. Whereas you can run an eyeshadow brush haphazardly over a regular eyeshadow and get colour pay off, with these you need to actually dig a little of the super soft product out and then you’re delivered the most beautiful wash of colour that can be built up from sheer to full on depending on how you like your eye look. I thought this would be difficult to blend but the little brushes that come with these are great and I’m pretty confident you could use your finger and do a decent job also. But it’s the colour and finish that sells these to me. These are the perfect shimmering eyeshadow that’s really hard to find, looking glamorous and expensive without looking a little silly and OTT.

I tried out two and adored both although the olive shade is my hands down winner. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect green eyeshadow as when they’re done right, they can be some of the most beautiful shades to use. Well I found the perfect one right here. It’s the perfect soft, flattering colour, kissed with shimmer and shine and looks really amazing on. I wore it for a full 8-10 hours and it didnt’ budge all day, looking just as pretty by bed time as it did in the morning.

I know the price may be an issue with some of you, but I think just one of these in your collection is such a beautiful addition for a girl who loves her makeup. Pricey yes, but worth it. If you’re smitten, this collection is on Lancome stands now!

So girls, would you splurge on this?
