Autumn already has me craving the darker side so I couldn’t resist a little post on some seriously sulty reds that are new to my makeup collection, perfect for early nights, hot chocolate by the fire and for looking extra vampy on night’s out.
Korres Guava Colour Lipstick in Wine Red (€18.45) is a brand new product from their Autumn line and as I adore their lip butters I couldn’t wait to try this. This definitely has a feel of a Revlon lip butter about it, it’s pigmented but comfortable and moisturising on the lips and the colour is simply divine.
Revlon Colourburst gloss in Embellished (€8.20) has been featured before here but it deserved another outing as it’s such a show stopping gloss. Incredibly dark and vibrant on, this will make some girls shake in their boots but lovers of dark and sultry colours will relish the chance to wear such an incredible shade that really feels like an Illamasqua product rather than from Revlon.
Finally, Soap & Glory’s Sexy Motherpucker in Riot (€12.50 but not available online yet) knocked my socks off with this red shade that I’m assuming Mrs. Santa wears every day to colour co-ordinate. This is not for those shy of red but if you’re looking for a new level to set off sprinklers, this is the white hot red to go for. Just be aware it makes your lips tingle!
I usually forgo dark nail colours but Autumn seems to change that so I was craving some really deep shades. Up stepped Crush (€5.99) to fill that gap, a dark blood red matte nail varnish from the hugely popular Barry M. I loved this when it first went on when it was still glossy and within 60 seconds it turned into a really matte dark shade that was touch dry incredibly quickly, something which I appreciate as I’m always messing and ruining my nails because I’ve no patience! I think the matte shade makes it slightly less misgiving with my rubbish polish skills but I loved the colour and can see this working really well with a winter wardrobe.
So girls, like me do you have a sudden craving for dark berry shades or will you be sticking to your regular makeup?
