I’ve long been a fan of Max Factor for mascaras and love the fact they seem to get a little better the longer you have them open and in use. So when I saw a brand new offering, I quickly picked it up in Boots to see if it lived up to it’s predecessors. Packaging wise, I’m not crazy on the colours but it certainly stands out which is half the battle in a sea of cosmetics. The wand is unusual on this one, which Max Factor claims will coat the base lashes instantly and in theory, give you 3 times the volume of bare lashes.
So to how it works. It terms of volumising, it does what it says on the tin. While not in the league of my absolute favourite mascara at the moment, Le Volume De Chanel, what you do get is a very solid mascara that won’t flake or smudge throughout the day and doesn’t clump on your lashes. It’s not life changing, but it’s a good mascara and hard to knock.
I tried this a few times then left it alone for another week or so and came back to it and it seemed a little better once the air had got at it and, as you can see from the pictures, gave nice clump free lashes with a good dash of volume that manage`d to straddle the line between natural and dramatic.
My only real gripe is that the wand is a bit of a pain, especially when you’re trying to apply mascara to your bottom lashes. Apart from that though, I like the results a lot.
If you’d like to give it a whirl, this mascara is €9.99 and can be bought instore or from Boots online.
So girls, what do you think of this one?
