I’m a sucker for anything Kawaii (meaning cuteness in Japanese), which basically encompasses anything cute and kitch (Hello Kitty and the like). If you want a taste of what I’m talking about, I’d highly recommend you visit Hawaii Kawaii which is one of my favourite sites and a treat to browse through!
This craze has filtered into cosmetics and one of the cutest brands out there is Korean brand Tony Moly which unfortunately has yet to reach Irish shores, although this makes it even more covetable! Luckily my trusted EBay seller who sends me all my Asian BB goodies also stocks Tony Moly so I couldn’t help but pick up a couple of adorable and frivolous pieces to show you lovely lot on the blog.
So I picked out two lip products – A Petite Bunny Gloss Bar and Fruit Princess Gloss along with a Bunny Perfume Bar.
The Bunny Gloss bar appealed to me because I have a bunny, not perhaps the best reason to order makeup, but the cuteness of it overrode any sensible thinking! There are nine different colours in the collection, each with a different fragrance. I tried out No. 2 which is Juicy Grape and I’d describe the color as a medium rose pink with flecks of pink glitter in it. This is a natural looking colour with a balm finish and it’s natural while still giving a nice wash of a darker pink to the lips.
The Fruit Princess gloss is a proper gloopy balm that you can see through the plastic body section of the princess, while her head attaches to the applicator! From swatches online, I chose shade No. 5 out of the 7 options which is a natural, peachy pink gloss with flecks of gold glitter that are only really noticable once you see them with a flash.
Finally, the Bunny Perfume Bar is a very cute miniature bunny sized holder with a rose scented stick perfume inside. This is definitely a novelty item but it’s so cute and pretty I can’t knock it!
This may not be to everyone’s taste, but I love this injection of cuteness and creativity and will definitely be ordering more Tony Moly in the future! These three products cost me around €16 so I’m not breaking the bank and they gave me a giggle. If you’re interested in trying out Tony Moly, make sure you order from trusted sellers on EBay and always check the seller’s feedback before you commit to buy!
What do you think readers? Do you ever order any products you can’t buy in Ireland? Share your thoughts!
