Makeup Essentials: Barry M Adjustable Sharpener

Makeup Essentials: Barry M Adjustable Sharpener

Oh wow, a sharpener post, you really shouldn’t have! Ok I admit this beauty post may be the most boring you lay your eyes on today so I apologise, but I loved this and had to tell you all about it. When you use lip pencils or liners at some...

Marks & Spencers Bird of Paradise Fragrance

I’m in full summer swing regardless of the weather as it’s now or never. I hate to scare you girls but this Friday (June 21st) will be the longest day of the year which means, after that, we’re starting the slow walk into Autumn, so make the most of the...
Etude House 8 in 1 CC Cream

Etude House 8 in 1 CC Cream

I’m a BB addict through and through so it was only a matter of time before I tried their new little brother, CC, to see what the fuss was about. I knew when I bought a CC Cream it was going to be an Asian version and I happily settled...

I know you ladies adore your beauty posts but here’s a nice little change of pace with some of the latest skin products on the market to give you silky soft skin ready for a face of makeup! I’ve been trying out No. 7′s Protect & Perfect Eye Cream, Vichy’s latest spot fighter and a foaming face wash and dry skin moisturiser from La Roche Posay.

I’ve been using No.7′s Protect & Perfect Eye Cream for over a month now and I’m kind of on the fence about it. This is a non-greasy, easily absorbed eye cream that has served me well each night over the past weeks, but not well enough that I’d be rushing out to purchase it again. Apathy is an unfortunate by-product of so-so products and this one is a prime example. At €22, I’ll definitely be looking around for an alternative when this runs out, but that’s not to say it’s not a good eye cream. It’s just not a great one.

Vichy’s brand spanking new product Normaderm Hyaluspot (€10.00) is aimed squarely at spots which seem to forget I’m not 18 anymore and pop up when they feel like it. So lucky me, I had a few to try this out on for research purposes! These claim to stop spots in their tracks and get rid of them within 48 hours. I didn’t find my spots had disappeared but this definitely worked at drying them out and ending their reign of terror quicker than normal!

Finally, I love, love, love these two new offerings from La Roche Posay. The brand new Physiological Foaming Water (€14.75) sounds very high tech but is basically a beautifully light facial cleanser for even the most sensitive skin. This foams up with one pump and disappears onto the skin when mixed with water. It effectively removes all makeup and leaves your skin babysoft and non-irritated. I loved this because it’s so light and easy to use and is a fantastic product for anyone who sufers with prickly skin with some cleansers.

Not content in spoiling us with that, La Roche Posay have also released a beautiful new face cream aimed at severly dry skin. Nutritic Intense Riche (€20.50)  is another complete win and felt gorgeous on my eternally dry skin. This was a winner because you’re skin feels heavily moisturised but doesn’t look in the slightest bit greasy. I loved this and have been using it every night for the past few weeks and will very happily continue to do so!

So that’s the lot ladies! If you’re interested in some brand new skin care, I hope I’ve given you some food for thoughts! What are your thoughts on this little lot of brand new offerings? Share your thoughts!

I really want to try the Nutritic Intense Riche, I think La Roche- Posay are fantastic when it comes to dry, sensitive skin :-)

They really are! I love this cream it really works but doesn’t leave you all greasy with clogged pores!

You can’t go wrong with Vichy and La Roche Posay in my opinion, I always have at least one of their products in me skincare routine. I love the La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I. spot treatment at the moment, I’ve found it really works! The Vichy Normaderm exfoliator is great too. Great review, skincare is the most important part of my beauty routine! :)

I totally agree, your makeup will never look it’s best unless you look after your skin too!

I love La Roche-Posay and Vichy for skincare. I just know my extremely sensitive and ridiculously dry skin is in safe hands with either brand. I plan on trying Nutritic Intense Riche as a night cream when my current Skin Essentials by Mariga one runs out.

      You’ll love it!

Thanks for the reviews! Quite handy indeed.. You made me think about trying LRP cream: normally I stick to Japanese skincare, but tend to get late with decisions/orders [living in the Netherlands makes it impossible to just go and grab whenever it suits me) and some good and honest substitute is always welcome for times in-between :) .

You’ll love this brand once you start trying it out, it’s amazing!

      • Lady_Tekki

I hope so.. Just need to get my hands on it.. and my nose :) [stupid as it may sound, I'm quite picky when it comes to aroma's in skincare]..

a fellow spot sufferer, I think I need to give the vichy spot treatment a go :) xx

      Ah glad I’m not alone:)
