I was completely won over by Chubby Sticks when they first hit the shelves. Their sheer quality and cute colours had a nation of girls weak at the knees including my good self, so when I heard there was a new version for eyes, I was suitably intrigued. Now initially the thought of a crayon for my eyes seemed a little odd but when I got to see two of the beauties up close I realised what a nifty little idea they were.
I was lucky enough to try out two – Whopping Willow and Big Blue. There’s 12 in the line to choose from so every girl is bound to find at least one shade that tickles their fancy. Now blue and green eyeshadows wouldn’t be top of my list for eye colours but it’s a testament to Clinque and the Chubby Stick’s formulation that their sheer quality means all colours are beautifully delicate and impossibly pretty in any shade.
In the trademark crayon twist style, exactly like the lip version, these feel super soft and impart a sheer wash of pigment on the lid with little effort. Big Blue is an icy blue/silver shade while Whopping Willow is a bronze/forest green shade. These are foolproof for easy application and a lovely finish without the need for several brushes and a whole lot of blending. At €22, these aren’t budget buys but would last absolutely ages and without any worry of dropping it and breaking it into a powdery mess like traditional eyeshadows.
I have to hand it to Clinique, this collection is perfectly conceived, beautiful to look at and beautiful to use!
So will you be checking these out when they hit the shelves this Friday? Share your thoughts!
