Spring is all about beautiful, natural looking skin and ARTDECO’s brand new collection aims to combat anti-aging, highlight skin and make it look all-round perfect. Sounds the business so far right?
In the collection are two different sets of BB Creams, one for skin perfecting and one for anti-aging and both come in two shades. BB Creams have saturated the market recently (not that I’m complaining, they’re all I use!) and these two have a range of properties with vitamins, nourishing minerals and most importantly an SPF 15.
There are also two different types of concealers in the range, an anti-aging concealer and a Perfect Teint Concealer, both of which come in three shades each. There’s also a Skin Perfecting Base to mattify and nourish skin and some nifty Oil Control Paper.
So to my thoughts on the four lovely pieces I tried. First up the BB Cream.
I’m obsessed with Asian BB Creams and a little less in love with their European counterparts but my eternally dry skin always works better with them than traditional foundations. I was sent the Anti-Aging BB Cream (€33.40) in shade No 2 Warm Beige. Unsurprisingly this was too dark for my pale skin but apart from that I thought it had some nice properties.
This is thinner than it’s Asian cousins but goes on smoothly, refuses to stick to dry patches and offers a very light natural finish. If you’re not big into your base and just want something to give your skin some pep, this is a nice alternative, although it comes in at a higher price so I’d advise as always that you try before you buy.
I had tried out the anti-aging perfecting concealer (€21.65) before in the Dita Von Teese range and apart from my beloved Collection concealer, this was the concealer I was most impressed with last year.
I’m lucky enough to not need an anti-aging concealer yet but I would still use this as it’s very mositurising and won’t crease on the delicate under eye area. Remember to use this under a colour corrector concealer (which I always do) and you’ll look bright eyed and bushy tailed all day long. For the photo above though, I just used the concealer to give an idea of how it works.
I haven’t tried a primer from ARTDECO before so was very interested to give their Skin Perfecting Primer (€20.60) a whirl. This light and moisturising primer went on with ease and while it didn’t seem to change the appearance of my skin on it’s own, left a nice base for makeup and would work well on older or very dry skin but wouldn’t really be the best for oilier skin tones.
Finally, I loved this cute little pack of blotting oil control papers (€10.95) that come in a very cute faux leather holder. These are perfect for sticking in your handbag for shine related emergencies and the cute packaging gives them extra bonus points!
If you want to check out the new Make Up Innovations Collection, it will be available from Debenhams instore and selected salons nationwide from March.
So girls, what are your thoughts on ARTDECO’s latest collection, will you be checking it out? Share your thoughts!
