I have to say I have overlooked the Topshop makeup stand many, many times, assuming for no particular reason that it was possibly a little cheap and nasty. Jeez, when you’re wrong you’re wrong! After narrowing my makeup brands considerably by making a huge effort to shop cruelty free, I returned in the past month or so to the Topshop stand and realised to my considerable shame that I’d been neglecting a treasure trove of beautiful lipsticks, blushers and endless rows of nail varnishes.
So from being very indifferent to their makeup range, I have to say I’m now a total convert. I spent ages swatching products like crazy on my last trip into the Topshop in Liffey Valley and on Saturday (and with the help of my boyfriend who has excellent taste in cosmetics it has to be said) we picked up the Topshop blusher in Flush. I’m nearly hitting pan on my most beloved of all blushers, Benefit’s Hervana, so I’ve been eager to weigh up a few products before I shell out nearly €35 on another beautiful box. So that brings me to this purchase.
In the round dotted container, Flush appears as a vibrant, peach pink blush and indeed when you swatch it it’s bright and bold. It has a creamy texture that when applied sets to a matte finish and despite it looking overly pigmented, once blended it turns into a beautiful day time blush that gives just a hint of natural colour.
I loved this product, so much so that Hervana, which for nearly a year was my everyday blusher, has been cast aside for this slimline beauty. At €9, it’s extremely good value for money and would easily double up for a lip colour on days you want to travel light.
I’m heading into town again tomorrow and I’m not going to lie, I’m heading into Topshop again to sample more products after falling in love with this one. If you’re on the look out for a pretty new blusher, I’d seriously take a detour to Topshop before you shell out any big bucks as this blusher can definitely compete with the big boys.
