I started Weight Watchers again this week and I’m delighted with myself. This isn’t directly related to makeup but my eating habits of late have had a direct hit on my skin and I’ve seen far too many spots and blotches for my liking. So hopefully my new found eating habits will change all that but it brought me to the question – what are the best concealers on the market? I’ve always championed Collection 2000′s concealer and rightly so as it’s the business but through the twittersphere and beyond I heard whisperings of greatness about Vichy’s Dermablend range so I knew I had to try it out for myself!
So to the Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream-Stick. I tried out the second lightest shade Opal which is just about light enough for my skin but Porcelain would be ideal. Vichy say to take off as much product as you need, warm it between your fingers and then apply to the desired areas. I also just slap it on straight from the stick but a good concealer brush is probably the right job! SO the question is, does it work?
Well the answer is a resounding yes. The thick foundation cream magically erases spots and areas of redness and blends out so it’s indiscernible from your own makeup. It’s actually quite magical, like a real life airbrush that you usually only find on photoshop. I tried this out for 5 minutes and KNEW this was a holy grail product straight away. I actually can’t say anything more about this product except BUY IT GIRLS!! You honestly, honestly will love it and see a huge difference in your skin.
The liquid foundation is similarly excellent and does an amazing job at covering imperfections and issues with your skin without looking too obvious or cakey. It goes on smoothly without a trace of cakiness and sets to a beautiful finish. A total winner if one of the 5 shades matches you. The nude shade I tried is too dark for me so I don’t have pictures of it on but I did trial it at home and it’s beautiful. Below you can see before and afters on my unfortunately spotty skin using the Dermablend stick foundation (alongside my normal makeup routine).
I can’t argue with the results of these wonder products and their ability to not only cover spots, but redness, discolouration, dark circles and anywhere else on your face you want looking your best. I truly recommend you try this out girls, I genuinely believe you’ll love it!
