With the lights and loveliness of Christmas fading into the distance (well, except at our house where the tree is still up) us girls need some beautiful new collections to help us leave Winter behind and look ahead to the prettiness of Spring. Well Clarins, a brand that is sneaking it’s way up the ranks in my heart, has the perfect collection out this month to put some spring in your step.
Rouge Eclat is all about soft, beautiful skin, sheer full lips and a pop of soft colour on the lids. And wowza, it’s very, very pretty.
First up, Clarins honestly release some of the best eyeshadow palettes around and this little beauty will have girls drooling over the Clarins counter in no time. With four mineral shadows ( €40), the Iris Blossom palette is embossed beautifully and there’s room for making a few different looks with this palette. The shadows feel a little hard initially but apply like a dream and look gorgeous on.
The Face & Blush Powder (€37) can be swirled together to create a soft peachy blush or used seperately. Also embossed with the Iris flower, it’s almost too pretty to use. Almost! I used them all together and it gave a surprisingly lovely soft glow on my cheeks, meaning it’s a true winner as a blusher for pale girls and as a brightening all over face powder for darker tones.
I was seriously impressed with any previous Clarins powders I’ve used so was interested to try out their new Mineral Loose Powder (€38) which comes in three shades, of which I was sent the darkest. Now usually this means it will look ridiculously orange on me but genuinely even the darkest shade is quite light, which will suit a lot of Irish skin tones but on the same hand alienate darker tones a little. I can’t fault the quality of this powder though, it’s one of the best on the market and if you fancy purchasing a new one, this enormous jar is expensive but the price and result is well worth the extra money.
Finally, Clarins are giving us their own version of a lip butter with their Jolie Rouge Brilliant Lipsticks which come in two shades of which I tried the darker tone, Sweet Plum. This is a pigmented lipstick but has a soft sheer edge which won’t dry out lips and gives a more youthful look than traditional lipsticks. I’d love to see more shades in this range Clarins!
So overall girls, I’m serious digging this collection and I think you will too when it hits Clarins stands this month. Make sure you check it out and get the girls there to try out the products on you!
