You may have noticed my growing obsession with Stila lately and I make no excuses for it. The number of cruelty free brands seem to shrink practically every month and if the stars do align and you manage to find a brand you adore that is indeed 100% cruelty free, you’d best make the most of them! Well that’s my excuse anyway.
So following on from my daily use of Stila’s beautiful eye shadow palettes and my recently updated Lust List that contained a dangerous amount of their products, I’ve swiftly moved onto my next Stila task – testing out their rocker trio eyeshadow and All Over Shimmer. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it!
Now when I see a bronze shimmer I usually assume it will have an effect when brought near my very pale skin akin to magnetic replusion. However, I have to put my hands up, this bad boy made me eat my own words. Despite being a beautifully pigmented liquid shimmer, the bronze effect is really quite subtle and lovely on my skin and highlighted it without any hint of a scary robotic sheen that would fit nicely into an Issac Asimov novel. The subtly meant though that I couldn’t get a great photo of it on my skin so you’ll have to take my word for now!
I’ve been turning to this every day now, something which rarely happens with the amount of products I review so I have to say this is a total winner. There’s 4 beauties to behold in the collection, Pink Shimmer, Kitten Shimmer and Rose Gold Shimmer and at around the €20 mark, they certainly aren’t a budget buy but would easily last ages with the amount you need to use. I’ll definitely be testing the others out next time I’m in Dundrum!
Finally, I know very well just how gorgeous Stila’s shadows are so was smug in the knowledge the Rocker Trio shadow would be a dream. True to form, it’s beautiful, soft and easy to blend and stayed put throughout the day! Similarly priced at around the €20 mark, I have to say they’re incredibly good quality and with three shadows I do think it’s worth the extra few euro. The Rocker Trio had a beautiful shimmer and not too much glitter, making it perfect for grown up glamour for a Saturday night.
So that’s the lot for now! If like me, you love Stila, make sure you hotfoot it to their brand new counter in Dundrum or, failing that, check out their website and drool liberally all over your keyboard! Enjoy!
