Isn’t life just grand when you find two products that work really well together? I’ve found such a wonderful pairing, in Paese and their Matte Base and No.7′s Instant Radiance Foundation. So first, to the primer.
I’m very discerning when it comes to my primers and Revlon’s Photoready Primer is my constant companion each day. But I have to say, this little unassuming bottle gave it a run for it’s money. It doesn’t have the pore blurring, skin perfecting quality of the Revlon primer but it does make your skin soft and matte and not just for a few hours. I’ve used it the past two days when I’ve been out and about for the majority of the day and not one tiny speck of shine came through on my skin all day. Now my skin is dry but I’m prone to shine, especially around the nose area but this worked amazingly well. So much so I’m going to try and mix the two primers so I can get the benefits of both! This is a total must for any other shiny gals out there and is a steal at €8.95 from Cloud10.
I was also browsing through the wonderful Pixiwoo site when I came across their review for No. 7′s Instant Radiance Foundation and was so impressed by their love for it that I found myself staring at it in Boots Liffey Valley just a few days later. I tested it on the back of my hand and even from that I could tell it was no ordinary foundation. With a sneaky No.7 voucher in my pocket I quickly purchased it in the lightest shade (calico) and ran home to see how it fared.
That was nearly a month ago. So how do I feel about it? Well it’s hands down the closest foundation I’ve ever found that works on my skin. It’s beautifully light, soft and radiant and I could see it working like a dream for a huge slice of the population. For around €16 it works like a foundation that’s closer to the €50 mark and completely trumps YSL’s and Armani’s latest additions which promised a light, perfect base.
The shade range is also really decent and the lightest shade works well on my skin although I could see room for an even lighter one. The only stickler is that it can highlight my pores a little but in every other way, this is an incredible foundation and well worth a look next time you have a No.7 Boots voucher in your purse that’s just sitting there. I honestly don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
For more information about the Paese range, visit the fantastic Cloud10Beauty site and No.7 can be found in Boots shops nationwide.
So girls have you tried either of these products? What primer would you recommend? Share your thoughts!
