NYX are one of the brands that I’ve long mixed up with NYC, believing they were the same thing. For shame! Anyways, having fallen in love with NYC but never sure about NYX, I finally got a chance to try out a few more of their products, namely their Photo-Loving Primer and Doll Eye Mascara.
I’m very picky with primers and expect them to work hard for the money. I’ve been trying out a few lately and have to say this is actually very impressive. It’s very similar to my Revlon primer, packed with silicon and glides onto skin leaving it lovely and smooth. I know some people hate the feel of these types of primers but I’m firmly in the ‘if it works I’m game’ category. This also helped diffuse the look of my pores which is a huge plus for me and kept my skin satin smooth and matte throughout the day. Now my skin is quite dry with some oily parts so I can’t vouch how well it would work on oily skin but it was a dream to use on mine.
The Doll Eyes Mascara also impressed me. It doesn’t seem to clump at all and instead lengthens and curls but while keeping your lashes looking extremely natural. I love some oomph with my lashes but really liked the eye-widening effect this gave without looking really obvious on. One of my pet peeves is mascara migrating onto my face throughout the day but fair play, this didn’t budge.
Overall, both products were great, I found it really hard to fault them! Ladies, they’re well worth a look!
