The less said about the ‘C’ word the better until at least November but, in truth, I’m already writing up my lists because if I don’t start budgeting now for Christmas presents I’ll be in trouble. Oh that and I love buying presents and always go overboard so if I didn’t start buying in September I’d be officially bankrupt come New Years. So, purely for research, it’s lovely to see what makeup products will be winging our way coming up to the holiday that shall not be named.
Clarins are the first to send some holiday goodies my way and I knew they were going to be impressive. Firstly, on packaging alone, before you even open them up, they’re beautiful with gold embossed cases. If possible, the products inside are actually more beautiful to look at. I was sent two products, the new Odyssey Mineral Eye Quartet Palette and the Odyssey Face Palette (which I’ll review separately).
I’m a complete sucker for eye palettes, especially anything with neutral shades so I loved this the moment I opened it. Even my boyfriend said wow, it just looks beautiful with three soft neutral shades and one whopping gold that had the magpie in me rejoicing.
Now these shadows can be used wet or dry and certainly are more pigmented and soft when wet. When dry, I was a little disappointed at the three neutral shades but wet they were a lot more impressive. The gold one is perfect wet or dry so take your pick! I wore the neutrals all day yesterday and they didn’t budge, and for night time just adding the gold on top like I did here really makes your eyes pop! At €40, it’s reasonably priced for a luxury brand and for the packaging and craftsmanship alone, it’s a treasure, and perfect for Christmas! It’s out as a limited edition piece next month so keep and eagle eye out!
