This is just a quick post to let you all know that I made it into the final 7 in the Best Fashion/Beauty Blog category in the Blog Awards Ireland 2012! I’m unbelievably shocked and delighted! I started this blog under a different name back in January of this year and then became www.makeupmonster.ie in June so to have achieved so much in a short time is a huge deal for me. I’m a Journalism graduate and started this blog because I wanted a writing outlet where I could be creative as, like many others, I’m currently unemployed. I believe firmly that if there isn’t any opportunities out there you should create your own and I’ve loved every moment of creating and managing my own blog even though it takes quite a bit of work!
So thank you to each and every one of you that drops by and takes the time to read my reviews, it means a lot and although I’m 100% sure that one of the other deserved finalists will take the coveted prize, I already feel like I’ve won, so thank you!
So what are my tips for blogging? Just this – do your own thing. There’s many opinions about what makes a good blog, about the do’s and don’t's, but the point is, this is your own project. Make it exactly what you want it to be and do it in a way that makes you happy. Your blog is for you, so you need to love it as it will take hard work. There’s a great community of bloggers out there ready to support you and help you on your way if you need it so don’t be afraid to ask for advice. Most of all, have fun!
