I’m an out and out gloss and balm girl. For the endless lipglosses and balms I own, there are only one or two lipsticks that actually end up in my regular rotation.
Lip paints, to me, are the perfect compromise between the the two as you get the vibrancy of a lipstick with the glossiness and softness of a balm or gloss. I’ve been putting two cruelty free options to the test – Sleek Pout Polish in Powdered Pink and Inglot AMC Lip Paint in 60. Here are the results!
Shades: Inglot AMC Lip Paints come in 20 shades, I was given shade 60 which is a nude shade that would suit all skin tones.
Sleek pout polishes come in 11 shades, I opted for Powdered Pink which is a baby pink shade.
Prices: Inglot’s lip paints are €14 each while Sleek’s pout polishes are €7.
Packaging: Both are appealing to the eye, Inglot comes in a sleek little black box which houses a small clear holder with a black plastic screw on top. It’s a good size for having in an already overflowing bag!
I was really impressed with how the budget Sleek pout polish looked. The generous size and flatter style tub means you get a better view of your wealth of product and for a budget brand, the packaging is, well, sleek!
Size: Sleek offers 10g of product while Inglot offers 4.5g.
Extras: Both brands are cruelty free! Sleek has an SPF 15 which is a great addition although I can see that the Inglot version also contains titanium dioxide so it also must offer some sun protection although it’s not stated.
The product: The Inglot product is a creamy, more pigmented colour that gives the colour coverage a lipstick would with a glossy creamy feel that’s really moisturising. It’s lovely to use and a little goes a long way.
The Sleek version is more sheer so requires a little more product to get the same level of vibrancy but still gives a good punch of colour with a small amount, especially in a gorgeous shade like Powdered Pink.
Verdict: This is a tough one, as both products are geninely lovely. For colour coverage, the Inglot one excels but on price Sleek is hard to beat and offers a great result.
Personally, Sleek pips it to the post for me when you consider all aspects!
Sleek can be bought from the Beauty Emporium or Cloud10 Beauty.
Inglot can be bought in stores around the country, check here to see the nearest to you!
