I was a very lucky girl when I won a Beauty Emporium Competition held by the lovely Fitz n’ Bitz! (visit her lovely blog here)
The €20 voucher was instantly spent on a few lovely bits so here’s the first one, Sweet Hook from China Glaze!
Now shamefully I’ve never owned a single China Glaze nail varnish so was looking forward to seeing what the fuss is all about. Sweet Hook is a pale lavender shade with a glossy finish and one decent coat or two thin coats is enough to get the best effect.
I absolutely love this pastel lavender shade. However, I’ve worn it twice now without a topcoat to see how it fairs and the results have been mixed. While generally the varnish lasts quite well, this tends to chip within a day which is a bit disappointing. However a decent top coat would sort that out so that wouldn’t put me off.
This is definitely a shade I’d easily get a lot of use out of as I’m a pink and purple kinda gal and without a doubt I’ll sample a few other delectable shades in the future that have caught my eye. I’ll just make sure I always wear a good topcoat to make it really last!
At €6.50, this is really well priced for a good brand so they’re well worth taking a punt on! Visit the Beauty Emporium to take a gander at all the lovely shades on offer.
So what’s your go-to shade for nails? Everyone has a favourite they turn to, so let me know!
