Firstly, sorry for the corny title, I couldn’t resist! But in truth, Stila has been worming it’s way back into my heart hugely lately, first with their Tiki Trio of lip glazes and then with their drool-worthy eye palettes. Eye palettes are my thing, they bring out the magpie in me and there’s nothing as pretty on a makeup counter than a little box of pretty shadows all in a row. I’ve fallen so hard for these that I’ve broken my own rule of photographing all products before I use them, I couldn’t help myself! I tried out two of the three available from the brand, In the Light which is a neutral palette and In the Moment which has more pink and purple shades. Before I start gushing about the shadows themselves, let’s deal with the packaging first. I love the cardboard palette holders, and the pretty palettes themselves. I’d like if there was a magnetic closer for them or possibly a little mirror inside but otherwise kudos.
Also, I’m a sucker for a little how-to-wear guide and the ones that come with these palettes are perfect for taking the guessing out of how to wear the beautiful shades on offer.
The waterproof eyeliners that come with the palette are also a very welcome addition and are surprisingly easy to use and long wearing, love them!
The shadows themselves are gorgeous, silky soft, blendable and very wearable. There’s a nice mix of matte and satin shadows and you can easily mix and match any colour in the palette, safe in the knowledge it’s going to look great. In the Moment has a lovely mix of darker neutral bronze and gold shades as well as plums and pinks. In the Light is my perfect type of palette, crammed with gorgeous neutrals. I’ve been wearing these every day since I got my mitts on them and can’t see that changing any time soon. But enough chat, I know what you girls want, swatches and plenty of ‘em! Here you go!
