Foundation and I have a tricky relationship. As regular readers may have gathered, Skin79′s BB Cream is the only base that really looks flawless on me without any effort, you could honestly apply it with greasy fingers in the dark and it would look great.
Foundation tends to highlight my large pores, hang onto my dry bits and just really look like a mask of makeup on my skin, something I hate.
So I’m always giddy when I actually find light foundations that offer great results because if they work on my skin, they should work well on most peoples!
I’ve been trying two really nice light foundations lately, the first being the subject of today’s post – Bobbi Brown’s Skin Foundation SPF 15. Now initially when I saw this shade my initial thought was damn it’s going to be waaayy too dark!
However this foundation (I was sent Warm Ivory) melts into skin and does actually match quite well despite my inital reservations. There are two lighter shades which would be slightly better for my own skintone but I get just about get away with this one as it kind of disappears onto the skin. It’s a lovely light foundation, slightly watery which needs some good blending to avoid any streaks but then sets to a lovely dewy finish.
So the verdict? It’s a genuinely lovely foundation in a great shade selection and yes, it isn’t cheap at nearly €40, but I’d encourage you to try it! If you’re looking for light coverage but still want a foundation I recommend you visit a Bobbi Brown counter bold and bare-faced and let the ladies work their magic on you with this product!
